We are here. We have arrived at this place where we are seeing ecological destruction, changes in the climate, political unrest, spiritual decline, and an increasingly morally bankrupt planet. The time is here to turn back to nature, towards one another, build community, and understand that without our morals we will perish. Without admitting the destruction that we have caused through our selfishness and judgment, through our ignorance and ethical draining of our society, we will not recover. We must come to terms, all of us, that we have created a world that is not suited for survival, and it is time to change it for our children. They, the innocent, did not ask for any of this. It is not too late.
It is time to reimagine a new society and way of living. Technology has caused damage to our young people, and I would say to all of us. Anxiety is at an all time high, and meanness and selfishness has taken over. It has been spoon fed to us and lies and fear are what we have been left with. It is what is now feeding our souls and we are starving. Fear has driven a wedge in our society, a division like no other time that we have seen in the last fifty years, and only a select few will actually benefit from that division. They will profit off what they have caused, leaving many wading in the cesspool begging to be pulled out. We have witnessed firsthand how morally corrupt we have become, and worse, how so many have accepted that corruption. It is difficult to watch and has been unfolding for some time now. If one were to watch or read the news, or listen to the radio, or any kind of media, the outlook seems bleak. It seems as if we have totally forgotten who we are as a society, a world, living together on this small planet, and needing one another for survival.
Personally, I think it is time for renewal. It is time to pause and find inner peace. To pull away from anything or anyone that tries to steal that peace. One must start becoming more self-aware at how their actions impact others. We must look within and do the work on ourselves before we can make any productive change that will benefit others. This is not easy work. It is difficult to truly understand yourself and how your individual actions affect the whole. Most are not willing to do this because it is easier to self-destruct, destroy, or become complacent with the status quo. It’s easier to hide behind our screens instead of looking one another in the eye and actually communicating in a loving way. It’s easier to point the finger and blame than take responsibility for having a part in how we arrived in the place where we currently are. We have all caused what has and will be unfolding. It’s been unraveling for years but we have not been mindful of the warnings. There is a way. We must become more self-aware and aware of others, understanding ourselves and understanding others. It is a crucial time to become more courteous instead of judgmental, and bring back kindness instead of cruelty. It is eliminating the need for foolish wars, and subduing leaders who think they have power over you. You have power over yourself so subdue these people in your mind and you will be free. It is a strong, resilient, and self-aware person that understands no one has power over you unless you let them.
It is time to turn towards nature and appreciate what this planet provides. To step in the woods or a garden and be thankful, knowing that the soil has been disrupted by foolishness, and selfish, destructive behavior. That cannot be denied anymore because the earth is screaming at us. The earth is begging us to mend our wounds. It is time to move towards spirituality, knowing that even if you do not believe in God that one must find purpose in their reason for living, and that comes from a spiritual place, not a greedy one. If everyone placed their intense, selfish desires aside, and understood that we thrive by having community, through being generous and kind, by being morally good and living with virtue, that we may survive what is heading our way. We must reunite with ourselves and each other and make the world a better place. One that offers fresh air and courtesy. Yes, courtesy is also something that we have lost.
It is a reunion of the soul that will fix the broken moral compass that has steered us on the wrong path and bring us back together, walking in unison. I don’t see any other way. Many will struggle with this message. Go in a little further.
